Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri criticised India’s playing XI for the second Test against England at Birmingham. Gavaskar was “baffled” by the exclusion of spinner Kuldeep Yadav, saying the pitch offered turn. “Where you needed strengthening was in the wicket-taking department,” he said on Sony Sports. Meanwhile, Shastri slammed the decision to rest a fully fit Jasprit Bumrah despite India losing the first Test. “You have the best fast bowler in the world, and you make him sit out,” he told Sky Sports. India made three changes, bringing in Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, and Akash Deep.
