In an hour-long call with Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia would not abandon its objectives in Ukraine but remains open to negotiations, the Kremlin said on Thursday. Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov confirmed Putin emphasized achieving the "root causes" of the conflict. The call followed the Trump administration's pause on transferring key weapons to Ukraine, including Patriot systems and 155mm shells, citing low US stockpiles. Putin also urged diplomatic solutions for tensions in Iran and the Middle East.
