Fierce Monsoon in Himachal—69 Dead, Dozens Missing, Infrastructure Devastated

From June 20 to July 4, torrential monsoon rains triggered cloudbursts, flash floods, and landslides across Himachal Pradesh. At least 69 people have died and 37 remain missing, with 110 injured . Mandi district suffered the worst, with homes destroyed, roads blocked (250+), and massive infrastructure damage estimated between ₹400–700 crore . Rescuers from NDRF, SDRF, local authorities, and the military are working tirelessly amid continuing heavy rain alerts through July 7–9—prompting evacuations, water supply disruptions, and power outages .
