The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has escalated weather alerts from July 5–9 due to intense monsoon impacts. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand face orange alerts for cloudbursts, flash floods, and landslides after ~43 deaths and 37 missing in two weeks . Gujarat, Maharashtra (Konkan), Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Goa, West Bengal, Karnataka, and coastal Odisha also face heavy to very heavy rain warnings . Mumbai and Madhya Maharashtra could see extreme rain (>21 cm) on July 6–7 . Beas River in Mandi is flooding severely, with infrastructure and traffic crippled .
