A senior officer of Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) was shot dead in broad daylight in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district on Thursday. CCTV footage shows the unidentified assailant shooting the officer—named by local media as Colonel Ivan Voronych—five times before fleeing. Police found the victim’s body in a car park shortly after 09:00 local time. The SBU said it is working to identify the killer and determine a motive. The attack comes amid heightened tensions following Russia’s largest aerial assault on Ukraine earlier this week.
