US President Donald Trump announced that the US will send Patriot air defence systems to Ukraine via NATO, which will cover the cost. The decision follows Ukrainian President Zelensky’s request for 10 systems amid intensified Russian drone and missile strikes, including a record 728 drone attacks in one night. Germany and Norway have pledged to fund several batteries. Trump criticized the lack of progress in peace talks with Russia and promised a “major statement” on Monday.
