At around 1:00 a.m. on July 11, 2025, a military jet bombed a Buddhist monastery in Lin Ta Lu village, Sagaing Township, central Myanmar, where more than 150 displaced civilians had taken refuge . The strike killed at least 23 people, including four children, and injured approximately 30 others, with around 10 in critical condition . Independent outlets suggest the death toll may be as high as 30, though this remains unconfirmed . Witnesses described the hall as “completely destroyed” . The Myanmar military has yet to comment, though it has historically claimed to strike only resistance targets . The attack occurred during a broader offensive aimed at reclaiming resistance-controlled regions ahead of a contested general election. (PC: The Hindu)
