The Indian Commercial Pilots' Association (ICPA) condemned allegations of human error and pilot suicide in the Air India 171 crash that killed 260 people, calling them “deeply insensitive.” The Ahmedabad-London flight crashed shortly after takeoff on June 12. ICPA said baseless accusations, without verified evidence, disrespected the profession and grieving families. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau’s preliminary report revealed fuel cutoffs caused both engines to fail mid-air. One pilot allegedly questioned the other mid-crisis, with both denying responsibility. The sole survivor is British national Vishwas Kumar Ramesh. ICPA urged restraint in public speculation. (PC: PTI)
