The US aviation regulator FAA has said Boeing’s fuel control switches are safe, after a deadly Air India crash in Ahmedabad killed 260 people in June. The Boeing 787’s engines lost power when fuel switches were moved from “run” to “cut-off” after take-off. The FAA referred to a 2018 advisory but said no safety directive is needed. Air India’s CEO urged people not to jump to conclusions, saying no faults were found with the aircraft. The London-bound flight crashed into a medical college just minutes after take-off. A detailed investigation report is expected next year. (PC: BBC)
