India has hailed Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla’s historic Ax-4 mission to the International Space Station (ISS) as a “stepping stone” for its future space ambitions, including the Gaganyaan mission. Shukla became the first Indian to visit the ISS, spending 18 days conducting over 60 scientific experiments, including seven from India. ISRO and India’s scientific leaders praised the mission’s success, calling it vital for India’s long-term goals, including an Indian space station by 2035 and a Moon landing by 2040. Experts said the mission strengthens India’s position in human spaceflight and space-biotech through international partnerships and innovation. (PC: X)
