On July 19, 2025, a tourist boat named Wonder Sea capsized in Vietnam’s iconic Ha Long Bay during a sudden thunderstorm. The vessel was carrying 53 people, including 48 tourists, when it overturned near Dau Go Cave around 1:45 p.m. local time. So far, 34 bodies have been recovered and 11 people rescued, including a 14-year-old boy who survived four hours trapped beneath the hull. Eight people remain missing.
