Doctors in Gaza say they are too hungry to care for patients. “We can’t even stand,” said one physician after a 24-hour shift with no food. Many doctors have fainted in operating rooms. “Some have not eaten for days,” said Dr. Mohammed Abu Selmia of al-Shifa Hospital. Gaza’s hospitals are overcrowded and short on supplies. “I had to stop surgery due to low blood pressure,” said a surgeon at Nasser Medical Complex. Most hospitals are damaged or destroyed. The UN and WHO warn of a severe health crisis. Israel says it is working to improve aid delivery, but challenges remain. (PC: AFP)
