The Karnataka government has reinstated Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda and three other officers. They were suspended after a stampede on June 4 killed 11 people during RCB’s victory parade. A government order said the officers are back in service “pending disciplinary proceedings” after enquiry reports were submitted. A judicial and magisterial probe looked into the incident. The opposition BJP had accused the government of blaming the police unfairly. The Central Administrative Tribunal earlier said police can’t be expected to manage huge crowds on such short notice. One officer, Vikash Kumar Vikash, has not been reinstated as his case is ongoing. (PC: NDTV)
