During the Operation Sindoor debate in Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Donald Trump’s repeated claim of brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Quoting Trump’s 29 such assertions, Gandhi challenged the PM, saying: “If he’s lying, then let Prime Minister Modi say it clearly in his speech here: ‘You are lying.’ If he has the courage of Indira Gandhi, let him stand here and say, ‘Donald Trump, you are a liar.’” The government has denied any ceasefire mediation by the US, calling Trump’s claims inaccurate and unfounded.
