Rahul Gandhi backed US President Donald Trump’s remark calling India a “dead economy,” saying, “He is right, everybody knows this except the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister.” Trump had said India and Russia “can take their dead economies down together.” Congress leaders Shashi Tharoor and Rajiv Shukla disagreed. Tharoor said, “We must give strong support to our negotiators… If a good deal is not possible, we may have to walk away.” BJP’s Amit Malviya hit back, saying Gandhi’s comment was a “shameful insult” and added, “The only thing truly ‘dead’ is Rahul Gandhi’s political credibility.” (PC: NDTV)
