U.S. President Donald Trump announced he will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 15, 2025, in Alaska to negotiate an end to the Ukraine war. Trump hinted at a controversial proposal involving a territorial swap, reportedly offering Russia parts of eastern Ukraine in exchange for a ceasefire.
