Congress MP KC Venugopal described a “harrowing journey” aboard Air India flight AI 2455 from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi, which was diverted to Chennai on Sunday due to a suspected technical issue. Venugopal claimed the flight narrowly avoided tragedy when another aircraft was reportedly on the runway during its first landing attempt, forcing the pilot to pull up. Air India refuted the claim, stating the go-around was instructed by Chennai ATC due to weather and debris, not runway intrusion. The DGCA confirmed the diversion was precautionary. Venugopal has demanded an inquiry, insisting passenger safety “cannot depend on luck.” (PC: NDTV)
