Al Jazeera journalist Anas al-Sharif’s X account shared his “final message” a day after he was killed in an Israeli strike in Gaza alongside three colleagues and an assistant. In the post, al-Sharif wrote, “If these words reach you, know that Israel has succeeded in killing me and silencing my voice.” He urged the world not to forget Gaza, entrusting its people, his family, and his children to readers. Israel accused al-Sharif of being a Hamas cell leader, a claim rights groups dispute. Al Jazeera called him “one of Gaza’s bravest journalists,” condemning the attack as an attempt to silence truth.
