A devastating cloudburst struck Chashoti village in Kishtwar district, Jammu & Kashmir, on August 14, 2025, triggering flash floods that have claimed at least 46 lives, including two Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel. Over 100 individuals have been injured, and more than 50 are reported missing. The flash floods have swept through areas along the Machail Mata Yatra route, leading to the suspension of the pilgrimage. Rescue operations are being conducted by the Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), police, and local volunteers. Authorities have set up control rooms to assist affected individuals.
