A severe overnight downpour drenched Mumbai on August 16, 2025, inundating low-lying areas and delaying suburban train services across Central and Western lines. A tragic landslide in Vikhroli killed two—Shalu Mishra (19) and Suresh Mishra (50)—and injured two others when soil and rocks collapsed onto a hut .
