Subhash Chandra of Udhampur—who had long selflessly served Mata Machail pilgrims through a community kitchen—was miraculously rescued alive after being buried under debris for nearly 30 hours following a devastating cloudburst in Chisoti village on August 14, 2025 . The deluge claimed 60 lives, injured over 100, and left up to 1,500 people missing . Rescue teams comprising the Army, police, NDRF, SDRF, and volunteers discovered Subhash along with four bodies in the same spot .
