Heavy rains hit Mumbai on Tuesday, causing a monorail to stall between Chembur and Bhakti Park. Passengers were trapped for over an hour before rescue teams reached the site. The Mumbai Fire Brigade, BMC, and medical teams carried out evacuation efforts, with nearby hospitals on alert. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured safe evacuation and said an investigation will follow. Train services between CSMT and Thane, as well as Kurla and CSMT, were suspended due to flooding. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for Mumbai and nearby districts.
