A Mumbai monorail broke down between Chembur and Bhakti Park on Tuesday evening, leaving 442 passengers stranded for nearly three hours. Officials said the train was overloaded, weighing above its design limit of 104 tons, which caused a power failure. Rescue teams, including the fire brigade, evacuated passengers in batches. Several people reported suffocation after the AC failed, and 14 were treated on site. One woman was admitted to Sion Hospital and is stable. Authorities said overcrowding happened as Harbour Line trains were shut due to heavy rain. An inquiry has been ordered into the incident. (PC: NDTV)
