Nearly 800 passengers were rescued after two Mumbai monorail trains broke down during heavy rain on Tuesday evening. The first train, carrying 582 people, stopped between Mysore Colony and Bhakti Park due to overcrowding and power failure. An hour later, another train with 200 passengers halted between Acharya Atre and Wadala stations. Rescue teams, including the fire brigade, evacuated passengers in batches over three hours. Many complained of suffocation as AC failed; 23 were treated on site, and two sent to hospital. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured safe evacuation and ordered an inquiry into the incident.
