The government on Thursday said India will not take part in any bilateral sports events with Pakistan. Indian teams will not travel to Pakistan, nor host Pakistani teams in bilateral series. However, this rule does not apply to multilateral tournaments. The Indian men’s cricket team will be allowed to play Pakistan in the Asia Cup on September 14 and possibly September 21 in Dubai. The final is on September 29. The policy follows international sports practices and ensures safety. Visa procedures for international sports officials will also be simplified, the government said.
