Anti-incumbency proved to be the deciding factor in Rajasthan as was feared by the Congress. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ousted Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's "magic" to mark a thumping victory with substantial gains in the desert state (37+ seats) from the last 2018 polls. As per the trends, the BJP is poised to get 110 seats in Rajasthan, almost 37 more than in 2018, while the Congress failed miserably with only 73 seats, a loss of 27 from the previous polls. Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Sunday took a jibe at Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, saying, “The 'magic' has ended and Rajasthan has come out of the spell of the magician. People have voted for the honour of women and for the welfare of the poor.”
