Heavy rain and landslides in Jammu and Kashmir have killed nine people, including five on the Vaishno Devi shrine route. The yatra has been stopped after a landslide near Adhkwari injured several devotees. Officials said two people died when their house collapsed, while two others were killed in flash floods. A cloudburst was also reported in Doda district. Traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar and Doda-Kishtwar highways has been blocked by landslides and flooding. Rivers Tawi and Ravi are flowing above danger level. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah called the situation “serious” and directed officials to carry out rescue and relief work. (PC: X)
