Japan has announced plans to introduce its next-generation E10 Shinkansen bullet train in India, marking a significant milestone in the bilateral collaboration on high-speed rail technology. The E10 series, developed by East Japan Railway Company (JR East), is slated for commercial operation in Japan by 2030. In alignment with this, Japan aims to invest approximately $6.7 billion in India's high-speed rail infrastructure, particularly focusing on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad corridor. This initiative is expected to enhance the technological capabilities and efficiency of India's rail network, fostering deeper economic and technological ties between the two nations. (PC: PIB)
