Rescuers in Afghanistan are using helicopters to search for survivors after a massive earthquake killed 800 people and injured 1,800. The 6.0 quake struck near the Pakistan border, flattening villages and leaving many trapped under rubble. Roads are blocked, making air rescue critical. Survivors described pulling bodies out with bare hands. Hospitals in Jalalabad are overwhelmed with patients. The Taliban government has appealed for help. The UN released emergency funds, while the UK pledged £1m. India sent 1,000 tents and 15 tonnes of food. China and Switzerland also pledged support. Aid workers warned survivors urgently need shelter. (PC: BBC)
