Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned on Tuesday after violent Gen Z-led protests spread across the country. The protests, sparked by a government social media ban, turned deadly, killing 19 people and injuring over 300. Demonstrators stormed Kathmandu, torching Oli’s residence in Bhaktapur and the home of ex-Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak. Protesters shouted “KP Chor, Desh Chhod” and demanded action against corruption. Curfews failed to stop the unrest, while flights at Tribhuvan International Airport were suspended. Students blocked roads and burned tyres, calling for justice. Oli said dialogue was needed, but his resignation came as protests intensified. (PC: X)
