Nepal’s Gen Z protests over social media bans have turned violent, leaving 19 people dead and top leaders attacked. Former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife Arzu Rana Deuba were beaten by mobs in Kathmandu. Both were rescued by army personnel. Former Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal’s wife, Rajyalaxmi Chitrakar, died after their home was set on fire. Protesters also attacked homes of other leaders, including President Ramchandra Paudel. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned, but unrest continues. Anger has shifted from censorship to corruption and unemployment, with youth demanding change. Security forces call for restraint.
