The FBI has recovered the bolt-action rifle used to kill US conservative activist Charlie Kirk during an event at Utah Valley University. Officials said the shooter, who appears college-aged, fled after firing from a rooftop. Clear video footage and footprints are being analysed. Kirk, 31, a close ally of Donald Trump and co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot while speaking before 3,000 people. Utah Governor Spencer Cox called it a political assassination and warned it threatens constitutional rights. Vice President JD Vance will meet Kirk’s family.
