US President Donald Trump may visit India later this year for the QUAD Leaders Summit. His aide Sergio Gor, nominated as the next US ambassador to India, said Trump is “fully committed” to meeting QUAD leaders. Gor told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that talks are ongoing but dates are not final. The visit comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited Trump in June, and Trump accepted. Gor said Trump shares a “deep friendship” with Modi despite past trade tensions. He added that India is a “strategic partner” and pledged stronger cooperation in trade, defence, and technology.
