Nepal’s Gen Z protests have caused damage worth over ₹25 billion, with luxury hotels among the worst hit. The Hilton Kathmandu, Hyatt Regency, and Varnabas Museum Hotel were torched during violent demonstrations that forced Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to resign. At least 51 people have been killed and more than 1,300 injured in the unrest, the worst since the civil war. Hotel staff and guests were evacuated safely, but properties remain shut. The Hotel Association Nepal said the Hilton alone suffered damages above ₹8 billion. Protest leaders blamed infiltrators for arson, while anger over corruption continues to spread. (PC: HT)
