The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has announced that the Yatra will reopen on September 14 after a 17-day suspension. The pilgrimage was halted on August 26 due to a cloudburst and landslide at Ardhkuwari in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, which caused deaths and injuries. The Shrine Board said pilgrims must carry valid ID cards and use RFID-based tracking cards. Devotees should follow the designated route and safety instructions. Repairs and checks have been carried out to ensure the track is safe. The resumption comes just before Navratri, adding spiritual importance for thousands of devotees planning the journey.
