Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Manipur’s Churachandpur today, his first trip since ethnic violence erupted in 2023. He met displaced families in relief camps and received a bouquet and painting from children. Modi wore a traditional hat gifted by locals. He laid the foundation of projects worth ₹7,300 crore, including roads, highways, and hostels for women. He said, “Peace is a must for development,” and announced 7,000 new homes for victims. He also highlighted ₹3,700 crore spent on highways and upcoming rail links to Imphal. The state has seen over 260 deaths and nearly 50,000 displaced since 2023. (PC: NDTV)
