Israel clashed with Pakistan at the UN Security Council over its strike on Hamas leaders in Qatar. Israel’s UN envoy Danny Danon invoked the US killing of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, saying terrorists cannot claim immunity on foreign soil. He accused Pakistan of “double standards” for condemning Israel while ignoring bin Laden’s presence in Abbottabad. Pakistan’s envoy Asim Iftikhar Ahmad called Israel “an aggressor and occupier” and accused it of violating international law in Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, Iran, and Yemen. Danon said, “No one condemned the US for killing bin Laden. Why condemn Israel now?”
