Jaismine Lamboria secured India's first gold medal at the World Boxing Championships 2025, defeating Poland's Julia Szeremeta 4-1 via split decision in the 57kg category final in Liverpool. Despite trailing in the first round, Lamboria bounced back strongly in the second round against the Paris Olympics 2024 silver medalist. Nupur Sheoran claimed silver after losing 2-3 to Poland's Agata Kaczmarska, while Pooja Rani earned bronze following a 1-4 defeat to Emily Asquith. Lamboria, a Commonwealth Games medalist, redeemed herself after an early Paris Olympics exit, crediting consistent physical and mental improvements over the past year for her world championship triumph.
