US President Donald Trump has hinted that TikTok may not face a ban in America after new talks with China. He posted on Truth Social that a deal had been reached for a company “young people wanted to save,” without naming TikTok directly. The announcement comes ahead of the September 17 deadline for TikTok to meet US ownership rules. US and Chinese officials held trade talks in Madrid, where TikTok’s future was on the agenda. Washington has demanded Chinese parent ByteDance divest control. Trump also said he will speak with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday.
