Adani Enterprises has won the contract to build a 12.9 km ropeway connecting Sonprayag to Kedarnath Temple in Uttarakhand. The ₹4,081 crore project will cut travel time from a 9-hour uphill trek to just 36 minutes. Once ready, it can carry 1,800 passengers per hour in each direction, serving lakhs of pilgrims every year. The ropeway will use advanced Tri-cable Gondola technology and is part of the National Ropeways Development Programme. The project will take six years to complete and will be operated by Adani for 29 years. It is expected to boost tourism and jobs in the region. (PC: NDTV)
