The Election Commission of India (ECI) has dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s claims of voter list manipulation, calling them “incorrect and baseless.” In a statement, the ECI said, “No deletion of any vote can be done online by any member of the public.” It added that voters are always given a chance to respond before any deletion. On Karnataka’s Aland constituency, the ECI clarified it had itself flagged irregularities in 2023 and filed an FIR. Sources also defended Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, noting he took office only six months ago and should not be blamed for past issues. (PC: PTI)
