Two Assam Rifles jawans were killed and several others injured after unknown gunmen ambushed a security convoy in Manipur’s Bishnupur district on Friday evening. The attack took place near Nambol Sabal Leikai around 5:50 pm when a vehicle carrying 33 personnel was moving from Imphal to Bishnupur. One jawan remains in critical condition. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals. Former Chief Minister N Biren Singh condemned the attack, calling it a “cruel blow.” He offered condolences to the families and urged strict action against the attackers.
