On September 26, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana in Bihar, transferring ₹10,000 each to the bank accounts of 75 lakh women, totaling ₹7,500 crore. The scheme aims to empower women by providing initial grants for self-employment in sectors like agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, and small businesses. Eligible beneficiaries will receive up to ₹2 lakh in subsequent phases, with support from community resource persons and Self Help Groups.
