India captain Suryakumar Yadav was fined 30% of his match fee by the ICC for comments made after India’s group-stage Asia Cup win over Pakistan. He had dedicated the victory to victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and the Indian armed forces, which Pakistan claimed carried political undertones. The BCCI has lodged an appeal against the fine. Match referee Richie Richardson rejected Suryakumar’s not guilty plea. The PCB had filed the complaint, while India earlier protested against Pakistan players Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan for provocative gestures. Both teams now prepare for the Asia Cup final on Sunday. (PC: India Today)
