Delhi Police Special Cell foiled a plot to murder comedian Munawar Faruqui by arresting two gangsters Rahul from Panipat and Sahil from Bhiwani, linked to the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar-Virender Charan syndicate. The duo, injured in an encounter on Kalindi Kunj-Pushta Road, had conducted surveillance in Mumbai and West Bengal. Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted them at 3 am; the suspects opened fire and were shot in the legs. Rahul was previously involved in a triple murder. The gangsters were allegedly receiving instructions from foreign-based Rohit Godara. Faruqui was targeted due to past controversial remarks.
