At least nine people were killed and four police officials injured after a blast in Peshawar on Thursday. Police said the device was planted on the route of a police vehicle. Capital City Police Officer Mian Saeed confirmed the incident, adding that the injured were in critical condition and taken to a hospital. Security forces cordoned off the area and launched an investigation. Senior Superintendent Masood Bangash said evidence was being collected from the site.
