Severe floods in North Bengal have killed at least 24 people and many wild animals, experts said. A rhinoceros was found dead in the Jaldhaka river inside Gorumara National Park, while a baby elephant drowned in Naxalbari. Videos showed another rhino fighting the strong Torsa river current. Forest officials said elephants, leopards, and other animals were stranded or injured. Conservationists warned that young animals separated from herds may be rejected later. Wildlife groups said it is not possible to rescue every animal. Experts urged better planning and safe routes to protect wildlife during floods. (PC: The Telegraph)
