The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Ashok Kumar Pal, Chief Financial Officer of Reliance Power, in connection with a ₹68.2 crore fake bank guarantee submitted to SECI (Solar Energy Corporation of India). The guarantee was allegedly issued by a shell company, Biswal Tradelink Pvt Ltd, lacking proper credentials. The case traces back to a 2024 FIR by Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing. ED claims Pal diverted funds, manipulated invoices, and bypassed standard approval systems. He will be produced before a special court, where ED will seek custody for interrogation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. (PC: X)
