Two Suspects Arrested in €88 Million Louvre Heist, One Caught at Charles de Gaulle Airport Attempting Algeria Flight

French authorities arrested two suspects connected to the audacious Louvre Museum heist that shocked the world on October 19, 2025. One suspect was apprehended at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport on Saturday night while attempting to board a flight to Algeria. The second suspect was arrested shortly after in the Paris region. Both suspects are believed to be from Seine-Saint-Denis and part of a four-person gang. The thieves, disguised as construction workers, used a basket lift to access the Apollo Gallery, stealing eight pieces of French Crown Jewels valued at €88 million ($102 million) in a seven-minute daylight raid. The gang used mini chainsaws to gain access and escaped on scooters.
