Cyclone Montha has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm and is expected to make landfall on the Andhra Pradesh coast by tonight. Heavy rain and strong winds are lashing parts of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu. Over 22 NDRF teams and 5,000 rescue workers have been deployed for relief operations. Several flights and trains have been cancelled, and thousands of residents have been evacuated from coastal and low-lying areas. Flood alerts have been issued along Tamil Nadu’s Palar River.
